There's frequently many ways to get to where you want to be, and usually no ways to royally screw up anything. The syndicate mechanics are different, and less polarized. In harvest, you kill the enemies and then you either get a good harvest craft or you don't. In a ritual, you kill the enemies, and then you either get a good reward or you don't. Most other league mechanics are fairly straightforward. I believe that there are other things that change as well, but can't recall the specifics at the moment. This can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on what you want. If you choose an option for person B first, then person A's betrayal option will get replaced with a different option. For a simple example, person A might have the option to betray person B.

The order in which you pick options at the end of an encounter matters. However, if you are specifically trying to get things you can trade with other players, a lot of the money is in T4 rewards, which requires completing the mastermind fight. Until you get used to the mechanics and have a specific reward you want to target, you can safely ignore everything beyond the division safehouses. Many people consider the syndicate mastermind to not be worth it, given the difficulty of the fight and how it resets almost the entire syndicate. It's frequently worth ranking up useless people just so you can interrogate them later. At some point you need to interrogate high-level people to get to the division safehouse. If you kill the first person, the others will leave soon after, so try to kill the others first. If you don't kill them too quickly, more people might show up. When you activate an encounter, remember who is the first person to show up. More people is good, because it will make you more likely to be able to execute them, and it will give you more chances to get good interactions. Creating lots of rivals/allies will increase the chance that more people show up at a given syndicate encounter. Don't forget that letting someone go is frequently the best choice. If you've been feeling overwhelmed by the mechanics of the syndicate, you can safely stop reading here. These 4 points are enough to work towards the reward(s) that you want. If neither option is obviously good or bad, it probably doesn't really matter. Rivalries/alliances are both generally good. If someone is in the right division, execute them to increase their rank. If someone is in the wrong division, interrogate them to lower their rank. Which is the right division and what rank is high enough depends on what reward you want, so there's no single right answer. You want to try to get people to be a high enough rank in the right division. Have a cheatsheet handy, so you can see what rewards people give in different divisions. Beyond that, everything is just tips to increase your efficiency.
